I could comment on so many of the things you said here, but yeah, "but instead, my crisis is hormones and magnitude" wow, yes. I love that you insist on being fiercely you, my dear, and I'm sorry for all the pain it, and the world, causes
Powerful and raw emotions. “Manic gales,” “scorched sand,” fear of feeling nothingness, Frida! Thank you for giving words to it all. May there be comfort in this communal understanding.
Maggie, I love you so much. Thank you for putting words to what you are experiencing individually, which we are all collectively experiencing as individuals in our own ways. I am so sad to hear about Ever's school and the loss of her lifelong friends, I can only imagine the grief you are both going through. We are fortunate that our school sent out a response immediately letting all families know that the school is holding up to the laws of our state, which is that all students are protected at school, that ICE is not allowed to interface with students and that by law the school does not ask about citizenship and will continue to educate all students. Our local Down syndrome group has invited everyone to an informational session on ICE and how we can be advocates for our community members. As we ride this wave of injustice, know that you are not alone in your fight for justice, even though it may seem that way. You are a light in the darkness. XOXO

I know it comforts me- I hope you find the same.
P.S. The link to the book What it Takes to Heal shows that the book is no longer available.
